Since Dreamland open in The Alley, Montgomery’s hippest new entertainment district downtown across from Riverwalk Stadium, the demand for BBQ has increased with locals and visitors alike. Of course, the Dreamland reputation is legendary. The first location opened in 1958 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (and is still going strong today) introducing their secret recipe BBQ sauce and slow cooked ribs. The Montgomery location is reminiscent of the original restaurant–warm and inviting with a big bar, tables and booths–casual and down home.

Dreamland Montgomery is actually in an old warehouse space beautifully renovated retaining the exposed brick walls, original wood floors and amazingly high ceilings. Plus, there’s outdoor seating with a view of what’s going on in The Alley. And, when the weather is warmer, there’s live music on the patio.

But let’s get to the best part–the BBQ! Perfectly prepared specialties using a hickory fired brick pit including their famous ribs, pork and chicken. Order your BBQ on a sandwich or as a plate served with some of the best home-made sides in the South! Baked beans, cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni and cheese and more. You’ll feel like you’re at a family picnic. And don’t forget the amazingly delicious banana pudding for desert. Plus Dreamland has 7 beers on tap, one of the city’s largest selections of premium bottle beers, and ten 42″ flat screen TVs to catch the latest sporting event.
